Some of the many finds over the past couple of days:
27 bandanas, new with the tags still attached (94 cents each, Walmart).
7 pair of flipflops, new, tags still attached.
13 cans of beer remaining in what had been a case of 30; sadly, one of the thirteen didn't survive the trip home on the back of the bike.
In the empire of scrounge there will be casualties.
This is the point where you cut the bandannas into 2" strips (preferably with pinking shears) and then tie the strips in a pleasing color pattern to the straps of the flip-flops so the straps are not visible any longer. I probably don't need to tell you that the knots should be on top and have some of the fabric sticking up. The ladies in your life are now set to be fashionable all summer.
