Three straight days of dumpsters awash in castoff clothes. Children's clothes, school uniforms, women's clothes, swimsuits, workout clothes, hoodies, zip up sweatshirts, pants, winter jackets--all in like-new condition and in some cases new condition, tags still attached. And the shoes: expensive sports shoes, custom cowboy boots, children's shoes, children's winter boots....
From the consumer closet to the dumpster to the back of my bicycle, and now into the hands of those in need.
This is always incredible to me. I grew up in Fort Worth and it wasn't a rich town--more certain neighborhoods extending tremendous effort to appear old money. I bet the same day these clothes were thrown out, the former owners all bought iPads.
