tools

A week or so ago I pulled from a dumpster a whole bucket full of hand tools, some brand new. Tools are always on of my favorite finds--the gift that keeps on giving, to me and others.

Then yesterday, even better: Toward the end of a ride where I'd already scrounged some nice items for an upcoming charity yard sale, and a big load of copper wire, I found all sorts of old/antique tools scattered about in a dumpster. Specialized files, wooden handled screwdrivers, some sort of wooden shaping tools, even an old Ford Motor Co. wrench.

Oh yeah, and a nice Italian made switchblade, the blade dangerously sharp--and, unfortunately, stuck at the moment in the open position.

  1. Way to go, Scrappy! It is an addicting pasttime, is it not? I could scrounge all day if I could make a real living at it and my wife would let me...Recent finds include two self-propelled lawn mowers, gas edger, some mint sets of quarters, nickels, dimes, pennies encased in plastic, hiking boots nearly new-my size, etc. etc.
