Apologies for the alliteration--couldn't resist.
Two days ago pulled from a Dumpster a Limited Too brand bicycle bag/book bag. Camouflage green and brown with pink borders and a pink strap, a flower sewn into the front panel. Limited Too, but Made in China of course. So many signifiers: feminized commodified military chic globally produced waste. Full of other waste too when I found it: candy wrappers, sugar-free gum, tissues.
And in the front pocket: five one dollar bills, neatly folded and paper clipped together.
Hey, I can use that to buy beer. Wait a minute: I already have beer. The empire provides.
